covered under Part 14 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 (sections 285-306) and Part 13 of the
Māori Land Court Rules 2011.
Before you apply, you need to choose the type of partition that fits your situation.
Prepare your application
Before you file your application, make sure it meets the
requirements of the MLC, the Act and the Māori Land Court
Rules 2011. Make sure it has:
• all details filled in correctly
• a plan of the proposed partition attached, including the
value of each separate area created after partition
• consent of the lessee(s) attached
• a schedule of ownership with all the landowners’
respective shares and addresses (including consents)
