Fees vary across applications. Application fees are set out in the Māori Land Court Fees Regulations 2013.
If you have a current application in the Māori Land Court that is being delayed by a dispute, you can ask for your application to be put on hold while you attempt to settle the dispute outside of court.
You should also ask your lawyer about the likely costs involved, as it can be expensive. An application for judicial review must be submitted to the High Court of New Zealand, not the Māori Land Court.
The Court may, on considering your notification, arrange for the application to be set down for a formal hearing if the application has already been determined.
Ensure that your device is muted when you join the hearing, as you may join while another application is still being heard. Please wait until your application is announced to unmute yourself, confirm that you’re present, and let the court know if any other people are present with you.
