However, there are hapū, iwi, and whānau that whakapapa to this land and may have used it for generations. If you are wanting to convert Māori customary land into freehold land, you can apply to the Court under section 132 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act.
She was the most beautiful kuia and was a true stateswoman in every sense of the word. I certainly tested her patience when I was young, but I was very close with my nan as she was with all of her mokopuna and she is certainly missed here today.
