- A Special General Meeting (SGM), facilitated by kaimahi of the Māori Land Court, will be held for the sole purpose of electing trustees
- The election will be conducted in accordance with the newly ratified Marae Charter. A copy of the Charter can be obtained by emailing the Trust at kawiumaraetrustees@gmail.com
- All current trustees will vacate office prior to the election but will be eligible to seek re-election
- Any person wishing to stand for election as a trustee must be present at the SGM and comply with the nomination and election procedures set out in the Marae Charter
- At the conclusion of the SGM, the application is to be called in open Court so that the results of the trustee election can be formally reported to the Court
