These guidelines are provided to assist judges
of the Māori Land Court in considering any question of recusal.
2. General Principles
A judge has an obligation to sit on any case allocated to them unless grounds for recusal
exist.
The record of the Court is contained within its
permanent record, which is defined by rule 7.19 of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011 as comprising:
