In your web browser, visit the Māori Land Court website www.māorilandcourt.govt.nz and click
the green tab in the top right area labelled “Pātaka Whenua – our online portal”.
While the project also threw up issues for improvement, generally I think we can be satisfied that the Māori Land Court is the most appropriate mechanism for administering Maori Land titles, so long as every order is reflected in the LINZ system.
It was not until October 2010 that the final Court case was completed. By that time the various applications and Court cases had been running for over six years, until they were finally concluded in our favour.
I also want to acknowledge my kuia Hariata Kingsnorth who passed away in October last year after a long battle with cancer. She was the most beautiful kuia and was a true stateswoman in every sense of the word.
