Judge Milner is well-versed in the work of both the Māori Land Court and Waitangi Tribunal through his extensive work representing land owners and claimant groups in both jurisdictions, alongside his work in Treaty settlement negotiations and experience in resource management, intellectual property and Marine and Coastal Area cases.
Don Cameron – Pae Ārahi o Te Raki (Te Taitokerau and Waikato Maniapoto) Born and bred in Whanganui, Don first began work with the Department of Māori Affairs in Whanganui in 1983, joining the Māori Land Court in 1990.
Eleven out of these thirteen judges are Māori, and all judges have extensive experience in Māori land and Treaty of Waitangi legal matters.
It would be interesting to see the response if our Māori Land Court required the parties’ written submissions in upcoming cases to be uploaded to the Māori land Court website prior to hearings.
