If you know that Christopher's block is, for example, Ruamata , but aren’t sure how his name is spelt, you can enter Christoper Crbb into the Owner Name search field and Ruamata into the Land Block Name search field to narrow the results.
This brought the Māori Land Court record into the computer age with details of Māori land blocks and their owners being accessible nationwide, without owners having to travel to the Māori Land Court where the land was located to get information.
As a newly appointed Judge of the Māori Land Court it is highly appropriate that my contribution to the Judges’ Corner relates to one of the new tools added to our kete by the legislative changes that came into effect in February this year.
