What is this document for?
• Any revenue from the lease or licence must be used as
directed by the MLC.
Section 150A of the Act (as amended by section 24 of
Te Ture Whenua Māori Amendment Act 2002) requires any
lease for longer than 52 years to have the consent of at least
half the beneficial owners of the land and the approval of the
MLC.

TAKE NOTICE that applications have been made to the Māori Land Court at Whanganui for
a meeting of the owners of Waimarino 3F No 4 Block to consider lease proposals and other
governance matters in respect of the land, including competing proposals properly before the
Court.

Whether or not the High Court has appointed a personal
representative, the MLC can make succession orders where:
• the deceased died before 1 July 1993 (the will applies)
• the deceased died between 1 July 1993 and 1 July 1994 (the
will applies as long as the will was signed before 1 July 1993)
• the deceased died after 1 July 1993 and will was signed
after 1 July 1993 (the will applies only if it complies with
the Act).

For a significant number of blocks of multiply-owned Māori land today, the engaged
owners are a minority of the owners.
S Overall, an average Māori land block has a size of 52.64 ha and 111 owners.
S The total number of allocated ownership records recorded in all blocks is 3,136.458.
They cannot be finally appointed until a
gazette notice has been issued formally
establishing the Māori reservation.
