On that island I see te iwi Māori walking proudly within their own Māori world and over their own land. So, I suggest to you now, if your vision of an island is similar to mine, we must grasp an oar and get on board this waka we share so that we can row together towards that island.
The information
in this booklet does not apply to Māori reserves.

Māori reservation land
Any Māori freehold land or any general land 1
may be set aside as a Māori reservation.
Individual members can decide whether to contribute some or all of their land interests. It is the responsibility of the whānau to protect land interests in accordance with their shared beliefs, practices, and values.

MĀORI LAND COURT CONTACT DETAILS
This application may be lodged with the Registrar at any office of the Māori Land Court.
Many landowner journeys begin when a whānau member passes away and their land interests or shares in an incorporation are transferred to their whānau members.
If an owner with Māori land interests is deceased, and probate, letters of administration or an election to administer
the estate have been granted by High Court, or is to be obtained, you can use this form to seek a determination from
the Court as to those persons entitled to a deceased’s Māori Land interests and an order transferring the interests to
those entitled.
