Once all, or most, owners have been identified, the
Trustees will consider opportunities for the whenua to be
utilised productively, in a manner that may generate income
and benefits for the whānau, as was originally intended.
If you believe that you, your parents, or another whānau
member may be an owner, please contact Barry Stewart at
bj.stewart@xtra.co.nz.
Pae Tukutuku Poutama
Kei a te Pae Tukutuku Poutama te haepapa ki te
rēhita i ngā taitara whenua, ki te pūmau anō hoki
ki te mana o te pūkete me te putunga, tae atu anō
hoki ki te pūnaha raraunga.
There are many ways Māori connect with and utilise whenua, depending on the economic, social, and cultural aspirations of the whānau for the whenua. The Māori Land Court, alongside our partner agencies, are here to support you and your whānau throughout your whenua journey.
Many landowner journeys begin when a whānau member passes away and their land interests or shares in an incorporation are transferred to their whānau members.
