If you already had an application with the Māori Land Court and dispute resolution was recommended by a judge or registrar after a court hearing, the judge or registrar can refer the unresolved issues back to mediation or court for further consideration.
You can also request the appointment of someone who
is not on the mediator list to hear your dispute. Requests
to appoint a mediator from beyond the list must
be approved on behalf of the court before they can
progress.
If you have a current application before the Court, you will need to email your details to MLC.Trustee.Training@justice.govt.nz to ensure you complete the training before your Court hearing. Once the training is completed you will receive a certificate, a copy of the presentation and other relevant information to help you on your journey to becoming a trustee.
