Before becoming a Judge, Chief Judge Fox was a Lecturer in law at Victoria University and a Senior Lecturer in law and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Waikato.
On 24 August 2023, her swearing-in ceremony was held at The Pā, University of Waikato. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Chief Judge Fox was a Lecturer in law at Victoria University and a Senior Lecturer in law and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Waikato.

The most significant occasion for us was supporting Chief Judge Fox’s swearing in, held at The Pā at the
University of Waikato in Hamilton on 24 August 2023.
A primary function of succession for Māori is to maintain whakapapa connections
to their whenua (land), whānau(family), tupuna (ancestors) and atua (gods).
