These include appealing decisions that allow water service providers to enter Māori land to do their work, and applying for charging orders if landowners have paid more than their share of water services charges on Māori freehold land held in multiple ownership.
We also publish a monthly listing of applications due for consideration by the Chief Judge in Wellington.

On 9 November 2015, the Court approved a list of 1071 persons for the Hāwea-Wānaka substitute block.11 An updated list was referred to the Court on 5 October 2017, which included a list of 1146 interim beneficiaries for the block.
While a number of the sessions were not directly relevant to our work in the Māori Land Court, all sessions were interesting and had aspects which made you think about the work we do and how we do our work. It was fascinating and sometimes astonishing to hear some of the comments of Chief Justices from context and systems so very different from the system we have.
That flexibility may also apply to situations where kaumatua are living in substandard conditions and need decent housing for the sake of their health.
