Preparation of a submission The application will be assigned to a case manager who will check the Court records of the land or person involved and prepare a summary of evidence for the Court.

For more information, go online to maorilandcourt.govt.nz/apply/simple-and-uncontested Preparing your submission Once your completed application is received, the MLC will check the Court’s records of the land and person involved, and prepare a summary of evidence for the registrar or judge making the final decision about your application.

Hangarau o Te Kooti/Court’s technology On 29 May 2023 the Māori Land Court held a ceremony to launch the redesigned website and new technology solution. Pātaka Whenua is the name of the technology and it accurately describes its purpose as a storage house; for the record, for landowner stories and for whakapapa which recount the tenuous and often tumultuous journey that Māori have had with their whenua and whānau.
