Pātaka Whenua is the online portal that holds the Māori Land Court electronic record, which includes minutes and orders.
It is a formal occasion, and you will need to address the judge as ‘Your Honour’ or ‘Judge’. The kōrero during a court hearing forms the courtminute. To make sure that the minute is accurate, court hearings are recorded.
If this occurs, you don’t
need to attend a Court hearing.
After the Court hearing
Within a few weeks of the court hearing, you will receive a courtminute including a summary of the
application, a transcript of what was said at Court and the outcome of your application.
All applications should be lodged with the Registrar in the District in
which some of all of the land is located
