They need to:
• hold a meeting, in accordance with
Part 9 of the Act, at which they pass
a resolution to establish a Māori
incorporation or
• have 15 percent of the total shareholding
consent and
• send an application with a copy of the
minutes of the meeting to the Māori
Land Court.

And it is not a new
phenomenon. Native Land Court minutes from the late nineteenth and early
twentieth centuries often noted that within a few years of title having been
determined, there were difficulties in engaging with the majority of owners.
They need to:
• hold a meeting, in accordance with Part 9 of the Act,
at which they pass a resolution to establish a Māori
incorporation, or
• send an application with a copy of the minutes of the
meeting to the MLC showing there is a sufficient degree of
support for the proposal, and that sufficient notice of the
proposal had been given.
The Special Aid Fund will not be available to cover any administration or secretarial
support incurred by the lawyer, unless that support is specifically approved by the Court.8
