Why make this change?
Previously, leases and occupation licenses could only be
issued up to 14 years, a timeframe that made it difficult to
get finance to build on Māori reservation land.
In February 2016 the coram for a sitting of the Māori Appellate Court was, for the first time, made up of Māori women judges, and women registry staff.
However, if the trustee or other administrator does not hold up-to-date contact details, all or some of their
services may not be able to be received.
