The purpose of the National Pänui / Te Pänui ä Motu is
to provide notice to interested parties of hearings being
conducted in, and applications received by, the Mäori Land
Court.
Native Land Court minutes from the late nineteenth and early
twentieth centuries often noted that within a few years of title having been
determined, there were difficulties in engaging with the majority of owners.
Alternatively, to negotiate a new 10-year lease (or such other term as may be agreed) between the owners and the current lessee on the same, or substantially similar terms. We note the current lease term expired on 25 July 2022;
