The appointment of Dr Ruakere Hond as a Pūkenga to assist the court, under s 32A of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, provided the level of care required in the matter and one the Court is extremely grateful for.
Unfortunately there are no reported decisions of the Court on the operation of subsection 14 in relation to subsection 12 so my comments are speculative.
That written notice must be filed in the Māori Land Court not later than 18 February 2026 If no notice is filed by the date set out above, the Court may confirm the alienation of the land by way of sale.
