As a newly appointed Judge of the Māori Land Court it is highly appropriate that my
contribution to the Judges’ Corner relates to one of the new tools added to our kete by the
legislative changes…
It need
only have selected the top 20 trusts and incorporations in the country and surveyed
which of their initiatives in the last 20 years required the endorsement of the Court.
In addition, in accordance with rule 5.11(1)(b)(iii) of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011, a brief summary
of the reason why the application has not been finally determined is also provided for each entry.
