The modern MāoriLand Court exists in an environment that is significantly different to that in which was created on 30 October 1865 by the General Assembly of the New Zealand Colony under the NativeLands Act 1865.
The Act also refers to general land owned by Māori.

New Zealand Court that hears matters relating to Māoriland.
Use this form to seek Court confirmation of an instrument or agreement of sale or gift of MāoriLand;
or to confirm a resolution of assembled owners to transfer MāoriLand by way of sale or gift.
It would be interesting to see the response if our MāoriLand Court required the parties’ written submissions in upcoming cases to be uploaded to the Māoriland Court website prior to hearings.
