Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, section(s) ...................................................................................................................................................; or
Another A...
Te Kooti Whenua Māori has directed that a hui-a-owners takes place for the sole purpose of an Election of Trustees, for each of the following Māori Reservations.
Now, landowners seeking to form an incorporation need to
show there is a sufficient degree of support for the proposal,
and that sufficient notice of the proposal has been given.
The Māori Land Court bench have released a practice note for lending money on whenua Māori. Unlocking finance is an important part of facilitating the occupation, development, and utilisation of whenua Māori for the benefit of owners, their whānau, and their hapū and this practice note is another step on the road to realising this vision.
Section 338(14) provides that: “Any lease granted pursuant to subsection (12) of this section for the purposes of education or health may, notwithstanding anything in that subsection, be for a term exceeding seven years (including any term or terms of renewal) and may confer on the lessee or licencee a right of renewal for one or more terms.”
A Maori Reservation is a special type of trust that sets aside land (Māori or general land) for a wide variety of community purposes. To create a trust, you'll need to apply for a trust order.
It is a time to take
stock and reset for the year ahead. We were hon-
oured to be guided through this process on 10 July
2023 by iwi whatukura from around the seven dis-
tricts of the Māori Land Court who undertook a
virtual karakia for the land and waters of Aotearoa
and Te Waipounamu, for the people of the land
and for all of us who work for Māori landowners.
