It must be maintained by the owners and beneficiaries and use of the road may be restricted to the owners of the roadway block, the owners of any blocks of land serviced by the roadway, or a combination of both.
It’s not about the backlog, rather it’s the impact that the delays have had on Māori land owners, their whanau and their hapū, as ultimately justice delayed is justice denied.

The Māori Land Court is notifying all owners of the above block about the following meeting of assembled owners: Whenua: Otonga 3 DATE: Saturday 16 August TIME: 2 pm Chatham Islands time (1:15pm New Zealand time) VENUE: The Den, Norman Kirk Memorial Reserve, Chatham Islands Kaupapa: The Seymour whānau resolve to seek the full partition of the Otonga 3 block into 2 separate titles, as represented on the sketch plan provided.
